Dreamland gets the GREEN Light from the National Parks Service
This month Phase II plans for the Dreamland Ballroom Public Access Project were approved by the National Parks Service! This is a pivotal development in the ballroom’s ability to host a variety of events and will lead to an exponential increase in the effort to rehabilitate the historic space. We will begin by building and installing the elevator. The 3rd floor handicapped bathroom, HVAC, and window restoration will follow or overlap the elevator construction. Once finished, this phase will complete the Dreamland Ballroom’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and ensure the ballroom is useable year-round.
Dreamland GIVES the Green Light for YOU to get involved
Construction will last around a year. So, by the spring of 2022, the Dreamland Ballroom will likely be open to the public. In the meantime, we will be planning our grand opening and restructuring. If you are interested, there are ways to get involved! The Board for the Friends of Dreamland is looking for new members. We need volunteers to help freshen up the Ballroom. If you have event ideas or ways you would love to see this historic site utilized, let us know! The Friends of Dreamland are exploring all the ways we can best serve our community and no idea is too big or too small. This philosophy applies to financial contributions as well. Even small donations help to maintain and improve the Dreamland Ballroom. Donate here!
… and keep Dreaming, Matthew McCoy
