Thank You to All the Friends of Dreamland!

One year ago, I started writing these weekly blogs and I am extremely thankful for them. While I do not always want to write or sometimes feel I have nothing to say, the pressure of putting something out every week has forced me to consider the Dreamland Ballroom’s past, present, and future, on a regular basis.

Before I started these weekly posts, I was losing my own passion for this incredible space. Working here every day, even growing up here, it seems like the job should be an easy thing to do. However, so much has slowed down or stopped, so much momentum was lost, that like so many people since the onset of the pandemic, I was becoming aimless and complacent.

Thank you to everyone who has kept up with these eblasts, commented on them when they see me around town or replied to an email or social post. I can’t tell you how validating that is. I love sharing this incredible history and promoting its restoration.

Thank you to everyone who has donated or contributed in anyway over the last year. We are so lucky to have the support of all the wonderful Friends of Dreamland!

Keep Dreaming, Matthew McCoy
